What did your nomination mean to you?

To be nominated as a vet tech hero of our clinic was a very rewarding experience! It felt good to know that my skill and dedication to the job did not go unnoticed.

Is there someone you would like to nominate this year who you believe deserves the spotlight? If so, who are they and how do they inspire you?

I do in fact want to nominate an amazing coworker of mine, Erin Graveling. She has gone above and beyond over the past couple of years and I have watched her skills excel in this field. She is now our clinic lead vet tech and she is constantly upgrading our quality of care. She deserves to be recognized for this. She has made our standard of procedures up to date and strives to make sure we achieve the best medicine.

What did your nomination mean to you?

I was so excited to get nominated and win. It’s so nice to have someone recognize you especially when I didn’t know I was nominated.

Is there someone you would like to nominate this year who you believe deserves the spotlight? If so, who are they and how do they inspire you?

I’d like to spotlight Alyssa Stair, a VTS in anesthesia at UTCVM. She advocates for technicians, has served on the state board, spoken at conferences, and teaches anesthesia skills to neighboring clinics. Alyssa encourages vet students and fellow techs, continuously pursues learning, and has even done service trips providing anesthesia care in Central America. She inspires me to stay excited about the profession and keep growing.

What did your nomination mean to you?

My nomination meant the world to me. I am so honored to be celebrated as a veterinary technician hero. Being a vet tech is hard work and takes a lot of dedication. I feel very passionate about my work and helping out anywhere that I can!

Is there someone you would like to nominate this year who you believe deserves the spotlight? If so, who are they and how do they inspire you?

I would like to nomination Brittany Gower. She is a very hard working and dedicated technician that I work with. She also makes difficult days in vet med easy to get through.
